SIMULATED HALL EFFECT

The VEGA 2792502 Resolver to Digital Converter uses the resolver signals to produce three Hall type signals at TTL levels to duplicate the signals required by drives using Hall effect sensors to determine the shaft position for commutation purposes.

This makes the 2792502 ideal for retrofitting drives that require indication of the shaft position in order to commutate the winding power of AC servomotors with resolvers

  • Fixed Excitation Frequency of 10 kHz
  • Incremental encoder A-Quad-B with Index and complements
  • TTL / Line Driver Outputs
  • Personality Module supports quadrature counts of 1024, 2048, 4096, and 8192 (Line Counts: 256, 512, 1024, and 2048)
  • Index pulse (Z Channel) occurs once per resolver cycle
  • Personality Module supports Hall cycles of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 per resolver cycle
HIGH SPEED TRACKING

The tracking rate is a function of the excitation frequency and quadrature counts. With a 10 kHz excitation and 4096 quadrature counts the tracking rate would be 28,000 rpm. With a 10.0 kHz excitation and 8192 quadrature counts the tracking rate would be 14,000 rpm. Reducing the counts will increase the tracking rate proportionately.

The model number extension indicates the quadrature count multiplied by 1024 and the number of Hall cycles per resolver cycle

The quadrature counts can be 1K, 2K, 4K or 8K. The number of Hall cycles can be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 Hall cycles per resolver cycle

Example: 2792502-8K3 would have a personality module for 8192 quadrature counts and 3 Hall cycles per resolver cycle.
